〔即時新聞／綜合報導〕新型冠狀病毒（COVID-19，下稱武漢肺炎）疫情迅速在全球擴散，多國官員、重要人士也難以倖免，如今連好萊塢重量級演員湯姆漢克也宣布確診。
63歲的湯姆漢克和妻子瑞塔威爾森在社群媒體發表聲明，稱兩人皆罹患武漢肺炎，「大家好，瑞塔和我正在澳洲，我們感到疲倦，有點像是感冒，還有些頭痛，瑞塔有時會覺得寒冷，且有輕微發燒，經過檢測後發現我們兩人皆呈現陽性反應。」
聲明中寫道，「下一步是什麼？必須要遵守官方醫療規範，基於公共衛生安全需求，我們一家將接受檢測、觀察和隔離」，強調會持續向外界報告情況，並提醒大家「照顧好自己」。

Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires.
